Gary DeMar and Kent Hovind will be debating on the rapture.
I have a few comments.
First, Kent Hovind is not prewrath. So contrary to DeMar, he is not debating a prewrath exponent. Not sure who fed him that. Hovind is an idiosyncratic posttribber, who is appropriating the popular term “prewrath.” Hovind’s eschatology, with all due respect, is a jumbled mess of confusion. In addition, DeMar, for all of his lamenting about how futurist eschatology is sensational, he does not show much eagerness to debate someone who academically publishes on this issue and focuses on prewrath—rather, he chooses to debate someone whose focuses on Creationism.
Second, it demonstrates the disingenuousness of Gary DeMar, with all of his excuses over the years for not debating an actual prewrath exponent, as well as his excuses for not wanting to debate Dr. Brock Hollet.
Third, in the link above, he responds to my article I wrote sometime back awhile: “Preterist Gary DeMar Promoting Fake Exegesis.” I look forward to responding to him. But for someone who claims they don’t have time to debate, he takes his time to respond to this article, writes many articles on eschatology, and takes the time to debate Hovind.
Finally, all this to say is that it is his loss. Let DeMar’s followers know the record, that myself and Dr. Brock Hollet are willing to debate, but DeMar is not.
His avoidance is most telling.
