I thought I made it clear in yesterday’s post why I believe this.
But let me answer and clarify it again. I believe this for the same reason why I expect Jesus to arrive this generation. If we think that the Antichrist could not meaningfully arrive this generation, then we should not believe that Jesus could arrive this generation. You cannot teach the arrival of one without the other.
Further, Jesus instructs us in his Olivet Discourse to not allow his delay to make us think that he will not come in our lifetime (e.g. the Ten Virgins).
This, of course, is not the same thing as believing that he must come this generation. God intends for the church to believe that he will return in their generation as a means of sanctification for his elect.
Warning: If you think that Jesus may likely not arrive this generation then you will not be prepared for him when he does come back, and you will also be vulnerable to the Antichrist’s schemes when he arrives as well. Those are not my words, but Jesus’s.
So prepare your heart and mind and posture for Jesus’s return this lifetime.
