Shallow theology produces shallow people. Or what James White has often said, “What you win people with, is what you win people to.”
It breaks my heart when so called shepherds of God’s flock give their people pablum, not for nourishment, but merely to keep them barely alive, since we are told that “God’s people, especially new believers, cannot really handle the meat of God’s Word.” Forget about the fact that Paul taught, for example, the Thessalonians this “meat” within days of their conversion.
This sermon on the rapture and the second coming was sent to me recently. I am not going to critique it in any detail since we have covered this type of surface-level treatment of the second coming so many times before. This comes from a “church’ who thinks they can “do church online.”
Honestly, it make me ill. It is spiritual child abuse.
The church, especially in America, is so unprepared for what is coming. Church leaders need to stop giving their people colored book-sermons (images on a screen to keep their attention span) and stop talking to them like they are twelve years of age.
Difficult times are coming and we have very little time left to get this message out before our freedom to do so is taken away.
“When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” (Luke 18:8 ESV)
