I always hear Post-Tribs claim that the plagues upon Egypt parallel the future bowl judgments.
But why leave out the trumpet judgments as part of this parallel?
The trumpet judgments contain just about as many parallel elements:
- locusts
- seas becoming blood
- darkness
- destruction of vegetation
- hail
- magicians
- and more . . .
Not to mention, the trumpets are called plagues!
I am convinced Post-Tribs leave out the trumpet judgments because if they had Jesus’s second coming occur before the trumpets of God’s wrath, then that contradicts their post-Trib rapture timing.
This is why prewrath is the natural reading of the narrative. We are not forced to place the rapture after the trumpets.
ANTICHRIST’S GREAT TRIBULATION –> RAPTURE –> DAY OF THE LORD’S WRATH (trumpets, bowls, Armageddon)
Scripture clearly shows that Jesus returns before he pours out his judgment, not during or after.
