We all know that 2 Thessalonians 2 contradicts pretribulationism.
But it is also a problem for posttribulationists who have Antichrist’s great tribulation occurring at the same time as God’s wrath.
Paul, however, in 2 Thessalonians 2:1–4 teaches that the arrival of the Antichrist must happen “first” (protos) before God’s wrath. That is how they should know that the day of the Lord’s wrath is not happening.
The Thessalonians got both the nature and the timing of the day of the Lord’s wrath wrong. Posttribulationists get it wrong as well.
Prewrath correctly distinguishes the nature and timing of the period of the Antichrist’s activity from the day of the Lord’s wrath.
