Pretribulationists rightly believe that the church will be raptured before God’s wrath begins.
But that is where their theology stops getting it right.
They wrongly believe that God’s wrath includes the Antichrist’s persecution against believers.
Consequently:
When the Antichrist arrives and starts persecuting the church, many pretrib Christians will think they are experiencing God’s wrath.
They will believe that the rapture and Christ’s arrival in the sky had already occurred leaving them behind to face God’s wrath.
Many will then be left spiritually vulnerable to take the mark and capitulate to what Jesus warned against in his Olivet Discourse.
This is the exact same error that the Thessalonians believed, that Jesus had already returned leaving them behind to face God’s wrath.
