Sadly, many pastors who say that eschatology “does not matter” also say that the creation issue does not matter.
It is not by mistake that many who interpret the book of Revelation, for example, in a non-historical or spiritualizing manner do the same with the creation account in the book of Genesis. The speed at which many Evangelicals are rejecting the historical Adam and affirming evolution is alarming. This is not due to meaningful exegesis, but to the pressure of the winds of our humanistic, secular culture.
In short, it is PC now to deny that Adam was created. Adam was a “hominid out of many that God chose.” And if you think differently you are a cave man.
Doug Wilson has a brief piece showing N.T. Wright’s bigoted attitude toward believers who disagree with him.
