I played a brief clip from my Introduction session at the Bible Prophecy seminar from last Saturday in the Salt Lake City Area. I open up these seminars responding to various platitudes that we often hear others make that sound pious on the surface, but are not biblical reality.
These platitudes are intended to discourage and deflate your desire to study eschatology, especially on the second coming of Christ. However, when these platitudes or slogans are examined in the light of Scripture, they are shown to be vacuous statements.
Some of these platitudes are:
“What only matters is the fact that Jesus is returning.”
“It will all ‘pan out’ in the end.”
“This doctrine divides the church.”
“Who are you to think that you have the right answer?”
“Theologians have been debating this for centuries.”
“There are so many views out there.”
I responded to these unbiblical platitudes with counter biblical truths from Jesus, Paul, and the book of Revelation.
