This is a really bad response to the prewrath position, let alone a “debunking” of it. It contains scattered vague comments on overarching theological issues and unsupported assertions. I hope Part II will have something with more teeth.
Nevertheless, l want to comment on a few of Garcia’s statements.
“Just because one believes the Rapture is Pre Wrath, does not mean they are a heretic, or apostate.”
That’s comforting.
“The Pre-Wrath position has been argued and made popular by men like Robert Van Kampen and Marvin Rosenthal.”
The pretribulational position has been argued and made popular by men like Hal Lindsey and Tim LaHaye.
“The Pre-Wrath view is not consistent.”
I noticed that the Omega Letter is out of Crystal Beach, Ontario. I will be a few miles from there sometime this fall. I am willing to come to a local church or other venue that is affiliated with The Omega Letter and defend that the prewrath is consistent in a public moderated debate. So you do not have to come to New Jersey. I will be in your area. Shall we?
“The first thing we should start out by showing from Scriptures, is that NO WHERE does the Bible show God’s people suffering His wrath along with the wicked.”
If you mean eschatological wrath, I agree. But don’t tell that to Daniel and the righteous remnant of his time who suffered during God’s judgment against Israel through the exile.
“When God gave Daniel, through the angel Gabriel, the 70 Weeks Prophecy, it was specifically given to Daniel’s people (the Jews) and to his holy city (Jerusalem). It was to confirm ahead of time, what events would transpire for the Jewish people. Israel would have a total of 490 years, as it would be broken up by 70 weeks of years.”
Actually, the 70 weeks are Gentile weeks. The point of this time period was only after the 70 weeks expire would God redeem the nation of Israel. The seventieth week is about Gentile domination, which is then followed by events transpiring for the salvation of Israel.
“God wants us to know His plan. But He also wanted to keep it a secret until the right time, which is why He waited until the Apostle Paul to reveal it.. . .Stay tuned for Part II.”
I can’t wait.
