And it is now being revealed that the atheist director Darren Aronofsky intended it to be blasphemy, wanting to produce the “least biblical movie ever made” and thus perverting a sacred story.
In this movie he creates God (actually a non-God) into his own atheist-pagan image, leaving the word “God” out of the movie and turning Noah into a primal environmentalist, dreaming about evolution, vegan ideology, participating in black magic, and wanting to slaughter his family. Sure, let’s take our Christian youth to this movie! Good grief.
I am not sure if anyone has made this observation. I think this movie is an indirect attack on the second coming of Christ. The second coming of Christ is about the certain event that God will mete out his judgment upon this wicked world.
In other words, the mockery about the Noah movie is not really about “the flood,” in and of itself. It is what the flood represents: God’s wrath against unrighteousness. Accordingly, the world continues to suppress the truth about God’s holiness and judgment so they can continue in their sin (Rom 1:18–25).
Here is how God himself links the flood event with the second coming of Christ:
…you should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles, knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. (2 Pet 3:2–7)
But if you think the movie Noah was not faithful to the biblical story, just wait until this fall for another Hollywood make-believe film!: Left Behind.
